INSPIRATION

I spent Sunday at the London Marathon with runners who endured the 26.5 K run and achieve what I deem to be one of life's challenging achievements.

What does it take to just decide one day that your going to run that distance and devote 6 months if not more to serious hardcore training, to run for approximately 4 to 5 hours for charity? To put your body and your feet through that intense pressure, to focus your mind so solid to just reaching that finish line is unbelievable. What does it take to stay on track and focus and ultimately not give up when your feet if not mind is telling you to stop? Sheer determination and self-sacrifice is what I can sum it down to.

To fulfil that promise to that sponsor, to fulfil that promise to the cause, to fulfil that promise to yourself that you are making that change is what keeps you continuing, striving as your body weakens, gets tired. Its amazing how many lives you are changing with ever stride that you make.

It restores the faith within me that everything and anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Life has ups and downs, you have to take the good with the bad and endure sometimes pain and hurt but ultimately the end result is all worth it. That alone should be enough to pull you through anything.

If you take anything from this blog take the notion that you can achieve anything your mind tells it, anything is possible.
